Acceptable use and cybersecurity

Dictate is a dictation aid published by Yeshwant Legal Associates. These notices are product terms, not a legal opinion.

Prohibited use

You must not use Dictate for cyber fraud or any other offence, including under the Information Technology Act, 2000. Forbidden uses include:

Cheating by personation, identity theft, phishing, or smishing. Forging or imitating a court order, summons, notice, police communication, bank instruction, or government seal. Obtaining or recording a voice without the consent the law requires. Bypassing security, probing systems, planting malware, or attempting to take over an account. Drafting instructions whose purpose is to deceive a person, a bank, or a public authority into parting with money, data, or access.

Discussing an allegation of fraud, or drafting a legitimate complaint, notice, or opinion about fraud, is allowed. Committing the fraud is not.

How the app enforces this

The microphone stays off until you accept this notice. The editor will not invent seals, signatures, case numbers, or certificates. Audio is discarded after transcription. Notes remain in local storage you can erase.

These controls reduce misuse. They do not police your intent. You are responsible for lawful use. Misuse can be reported to the appropriate police cyber unit or other authority, and this licence ends on breach.

Your side of the protocol

Use a device you control. Lock the screen if you step away. Do not install the app on a shared kiosk for confidential matters. Review names and figures before anything leaves the device. Do not paste dictated text into a channel you do not trust.
